Join the Swedish American Museum for an engaging Zoom program focused on the importance of your family history for future generations. Learn how Marilyn used AI to write the life story of her 4x great grandfather, Sven Magnus Ström and his family.  We'll begin by examining AI prompts to read, translate, and understand Swedish historical records followed by examples of how to use AI to transform the historical facts into captivating family narratives.

Marilyn Fettinger has been researching her own Swedish ancestors for over 15 years. She does volunteer research for the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center at Augustana College and is a member of the Swedish Genealogical Society of Colorado (SGSC). She has given presentations at Swedish genealogy conferences and for genealogy clubs. Her professional background is in information technology so she enjoys utilizing computer technologies for genealogy. She uses AI handwriting transcription and AI translation to reveal her ancestor’s stories in the Swedish records.
